Step 4: Time for color
With a flat brush, apply your darkest shade on your whole eyelid and blend. Take the same color, but this time on a small brush, and smudge it on the lower lash line to create definition. Remember that you don’t have to exclusively use black to create a smokey eye. Instead, you can play around with any shades you like such as plum, navy, green or natural browns for a softer look.

The secret to the best smokey eye is the way it diffuses from the centre to the outside of the eye. In order to avoid harsh lines, use a fluffy brush and take your time to blend all the edges.
